This was so cool... While hubby and my parents and I were walking around Beaufort last weekend we happened upon a cottage just surrounded by beautiful flowers, including this yellow and orange canna. I was taking a few shots of this and the lady that lived in the cottage came around the corner and asked if I wanted a piece of it. I was unsure what she meant, but she reached into the plant and pulled one of the tubers out of the ground, wrapped it in a piece of plastic and handed it to me. She says it grows prolificly, and in a couple of years I should have a nice stand of them.

I planted it out in the back corner, and just got some hydrangias to flank it on either side.

Deb that is a great capture! I really love that color in this shot, so utterly bright and vivid and not overexposed, I bet it smelled wonderful! Great shot!

I was very pleased with the way all my shots came out that day, I had used a polarizing lens on the camera, it was a fairly dark lens, and it really helped to keep the glare down. None of my shots were over exposed, and if you know how bright the sun is around here you'd know that is hard to do on a bright sunny day.
