Nice shot John.

If I'm allowed a nitpick or two.

The picture looks to me as if it tilts ever so slightly to the right. Also it seems as if there is way too much sky. (Unless of course that was the subject) Might have tried to place the mountain peaks closer to the upper third line

Please forgive this quick & dirty edit of your picture. But it is easier showing then explaining sometimes. unsure.gif

While I can agree that there is a (very slight) tilt in the photo, I wouldn't say that putting the mountains higher in the photo would have been a better choice. The sky has such a great gradient from a deep to light blue, that gives a vibrance to the photo that is lost in a version where less sky is visible, as the "lower" part of the sky is mostly cloudy.

I should have indicated I was expressing my opinion. Sorry.

The sky is indeed quite beautiful.

But if I had wanted to capture the sky, I would have placed the mountain peaks lower. To me the focus/subject was the lake against the mountains, thus by placing the peaks higher greater emphasis would be placed on the lake/mountain combination. But in any case, it really depends on what John had meant to capture.

But as always, this art form is subjective and as often is the case YMMV. smile.gif

Too true.

How about a vertical format, so that all are happy? tongue.gif happy.gif cool.gif

And hey feel free to critique, I think a discussion like this can help more than the (usual) praise. Feel free to look over the few photos I have posted here and add your thoughts.
