You are certainly on to something here,....level that horizon line and maybe burn in that sky some and add a touch of contrast. It is REALLY nice but it needs a lil oomph. Push it!

I have to say, it looks as if your camera was trying to fill in for the natural light that was missing... a problem with digital cameras at times.
The shot is beautiful though... a little post-work and you will have an excellent photo.

It looks good. My golden rule for landscapes / waterscapes involving water is:
Make sure the water is level with the horizon It can be a pain but, it's the thing I'm big on. Keep the water level

Try pushing the darker areas down to lower levels. The compression probably made it look worst than the original. But, there really isn't much detail to convey in the wooded areas - the main interest is the contrast between the lake, the woods and the sky. Re-post if you get a chance to work on the light levels.

Thanks for all the input! The only photo shop I have been doing is resizing and cropping, I need a knew computer and some good photo software I hope to have both by the end of the summer. Yay
