Here's a shot of a fly i took recently but i'm not satisfied with the detail on the fly's back.. I haven't been able to adjust the curves well enough to bring out the detail from the fly but not wash out the bright petals or make the fly look dull.

Any advice? Feel free to try your hand at modifying it but only repost on Shutterbugs.

Workflow:

Duplicate layer
Remove colour
Invert
Layer set to overlay
Gausean blur 1.1 pixels
Flatten
Rotate 10
cut out section

That's a very interesting process... I must try it!
